Architectural Wire Systems

Modern developments in construction technology have focused on the producion of light sturdy structures. Wire and bar tension members are a key part of current systems and can be expected to further increase in relevence.

It is the policy of Petersen Stainless Rigging Limited to be at the forefront of developing such economic and versatile technologies. By combining an understanding of the relevent aesthetic and scientific principles, Petersen’s are able to provide elegant yet reliable solutions to tension member problems.

Cable assemblies consist of a cable, two terminations and some method of tensioning the cable. The following systems demonstrate some fo the most commonly used cable systems.

System C1
Two architectural adjuster fork sets with the cable terminated by swage studs. The swage studs are RH and LH  which provides tension to the wire as it is rotated.

System C2
Two swage forks with an in-line tensioner at the centre of the wire. Tension is provided by rotating the central body. The body roates but the wire remains static.

System C3
A static swage fork at one end of the wire with a fork/stud tensioner at the other end of the wire. Tension on the wire is achieved by rotating the stud/fork tensioner. The wire remains static and will not turn.

System C4
A similar system to System C3 above exept the wire is attached to the wire using compression terminals instead of a swage terminals.
