Petersen Stainless Rigging Limited was originally founded in Bergen, Norway during the early 1900's as an engineering blacksmiths which served the marine and agricultural industries. After developing the specialisation in stainless steel the business was relocated to England in 1978. At this point in time Petersens offered a standard range of stainless steel fittings and shackles for marine and industrial uses. Through specialising in the turning, upsetting and forming of stainless steel bar, a wide variety of products to customer specification were manufactured for use in other industries.

The business was bought by its present owners in 1980, and since then the company has focused on product development. The stainless steel lifting shackles range has grown since then and now includes a wide range of lifting shackles suited to many applications and industries.

All of the shackles we sell are manufactured by us at our production facility in the North East. Full materials traceability is available along with in-house testing up to 18t WLL, 36t proof load. All WLL tests are uniquly identified and certified with a clear trace from shackle to test certificate.

The most recent addition to our range of lifting products is the Blaydon Block. Available in four sizes with single, double or triple sheaves. These high integrity, well engineered blocks are proof tested and supplied with test batch ID and full certification to EN10204 3.1b, CE certified and stamped. This general purpose range of integral becket pulley blocks combines light weight and maximum corrosion resistance. All sizes are of bolted construction and can be simply dismantled for replacement of sheaves or other damaged parts. The double blocks are used in pairs by electricty boards for live line working
