Chester le Street Town gained some revenge for two earlier defeats when they beat Norton 3-0 at Chester Moor Park. Play was fairly even in the first half but the Cestrians had to defend resolutely in the last ten minutes of the first half as Norton sought an opening goal with Josh Carmichael having to make two brilliant saves. On the stroke of half-time, Chester survived what looked a good penalty appeal for Norton when Josh Carmichael closed down Wells near to goal to send the ball for a corner. Chester almost took the lead within two minutes of the restart when a curling shot from Craig Price brought a brilliant save from the Norton keeper. Chester le Street eventually took the lead after 58 minutes when a free kick from Craig Price rocketed into the net at the near post with the keeper desperately trying to keep it out . Chester doubled their lead after 72 minutes when Rod Draper powered in a header from open play involving five Chester players with Nicky Kane supplying the telling chip for Draper's header. Norton nearly pulled a goal back on 75 mins but Josh Carmichael was alert to the danger and cleared well. The home team increased their advantage after 80 minutes when Nathan Fisher broke clear down the left only to be up ended in the box and Price confidently stroked the ball home from the spot.
