The Hi-MOD swageless compression terminals were first developed by Petersen Stainless Rigging Ltd after a request from a manufacturer of roller-furling gear. The design process threw up some interesting results which led to the development of what is widely regarded as the best swageless compression terminals on the market.
Petersen Stainless Rigging Ltd has been forging swage shroud terminals (spoon terminals) since they were first introduced to the market by Kemp Masts many years ago. The heads on our shroud terminals are forged from low-carbon 316L using the same technology we use to make our certified lifting shackles to give a superior grain-structure with excellent fatigue and corrosion resistance.
Slip-Stick is the terminology used to describe a phenomenon which can sometimes occur at high loads inside a swage terminal. As the name suggests it is characterised by the wire slipping and then sticking inside the terminal. It should only occur at loads you would never expect a fitting to work at. This white-paper gives important information about how to ensure this doesn't occur at lower loads.
Petersen Stainless Rigging Ltd is pleased to announce our range of 741 style swage tee terminals. In an improvement on the original, the heads on our tee terminals are forged from low-carbon 316L using the same technology we use to make our certified lifting shackles to give a superior grain-structure with excellent fatigue and corrosion resistance.
