Product Features
The Petersen swage and test machines combine two functions into one small and portable package. The patented system uses a hydraulic cylinder to pull the socket between two roller dies, pressing it on to the cable. After swaging the cable can be gripped with the integrated, non-marking wire-rope grips and a proof-load applied to test the fit of the terminal. The machines can be supplied with a calibrated pressure gauge with digital load read-out or a load-cell to measure the proof-load. The compact size and comparatively low-weight of the Petersen swage and test machines means they can be easily loaded on to a truck for on-site fabrication and repairs of wire-rope slings, crane ropes and other wire rope assemblies. The hydraulics can be operated by means of a hand pump (more suited to the smaller machines) or a single or 3-phase electric pump.
